Denotation and connotation

1) Write an analysis of the Water Aid advert above using denotation, connotation and analysis. What does the advert communicate to the audience?


The advert uses a boy who wants toilets and he doesn't want any graves.This suggest that he is sad and miserable that he hasn't got any toilet to take a poop or a wee.It also links that his family is poor and that they cant afford many things and the tagline show that he wants toilets 'Dig toilets Not graves'.


2) Now choose your own advert from Google images. Add it to your blogpost and write an analysis using denotation and connotation, explaining what the advert is communicating to the audience.

The advert uses a baby to advertise a 7 up this is wrong because during this if bottle  had broken the baby would if cut itself.This suggests that this drink is suitable to drink.It also suggests that a baby can hold a glass bottle which is safe.It also links that 7 up are using babies to pursuade people to drink there drink because if it sutabile for babies it is sutuible for every one.
