1) What is the main readership demographic for The Times newspaper?The times tend to attract an audience that is older and more traditional.

2) Why do the Times front page stories/features appeal to the Times audience?Its more wordy

3) Why might the election coverage be enjoyable to Times readers?Because old people like news about elections and court related things.

4) Why might a reader enjoy the Times? Use Blumler & Katz Uses and Gratifications theory to add detail to your answer.They have readers who are subscribed and loyal towards the reader.

5) Times readers are mostly over 55 years old. Why is this and how is this reflected in the CSP edition?Older people don't want to go out to buy a newspaper so if they are subscribed they get the paper delivered to there door.

OSP & Videogames: An introduction

A brief history of videogames

1) What were the first videogames like? The graphics was very bad and pixelated. This is because the first game was realeased in 1977.

2) How have videogames changed over time? Videogames have changed because the graphics are way better this makes the game more realistic. 

3) What do the most successful games have in common? Answer this in as much detail as you can. Think about audience pleasures - what do people like about playing videogames? The most successful games all have like shooting in them this is because it makes it more better.

4) What criticisms have been made towards videogames? The age rating because there are younger kids playing 18 games which is bad.This is bad because it can affect them a lot because it can affect there mental sate.

2) Why is it so popular? What are the audience pleasures of the game?The game is so popular because of the great graphics.The audience love the game because sometimes the kids are very good and they can win money from tornaments.

I disagree with this comment because it is his own opinion.A fantastic game for all the family. The violence is cartoon-like, not gratuitous or graphic. I limit my children to only playing the Playstation at the weekends. Simple.I agree with this point because it is a good family game to play.

Statement of intent LR


1) Read your feedback carefully and then write a summary of it in your own words using WWW / EBI.
www-I have written a straight not a very complicated statement of intent using obvious use of how I can and will use camera angles and shots and the use of props.
EBI-I would have to improve the use of media terminology because I don’t use it much .I should explain why I will be using this setting, props, camera shots and costume. I haven’t shown how this product will appeal to my target audience and why it will.

2) Do you need to make any changes to your narrative? Why? I would need to make a change to my product from sure to lynx because more teenagers use lynx. This would help my target audience because this advert is mainly aimed at teenagers

3) How can you improve the use of media terminology in your Statement of Intent? I should use more uses of gratifications. E.g narrative.

4) Representation and stereotyping was a weakness in some drafts. How will you address the key concept of representation in your next draft? The representation would be that it shows how some people can judge them by just how they look because before character used not wear any deodorant and no one like him. But as soon as he started wearing deodorant he became one of the most popular boy in the school.                                                             

5) Finally, think about audience. Why would the target audience (14-18 year olds) enjoy your advert? They would enjoy this advert because It has a very strong narrative and they would like how cheap this spray is.

REVEAL

  • The price in the top third is bold and looks like a pound coin which connotes the cheapness of the product.
  • The use of numerous images as oppose to one, central image suggeststhat the magazine offers a great deal of content and is good value for money


TATLER

  • The use of Serif font for the title gives the word ‘Tatler’ a more regal, formal and sophisticated appearance which reinforces the magazine’s brand identity as upper class and associated with style and elegance.


  • The setting is blurred which makes it look exotic and uses an outdoorlocation juxtaposed with the glamorous outfit of the model.

    Ade Apitan is represented as a disabled basketball player which suggest that you can be what ever you like.but stereotypical people would say that disabled people cant do anything with their lives.

    Kenya King is the founder and ceo of the mobo awards.She is represented as someone who cares about the bame community.

    The three empty chairs represent that their is only 3% of people in the bame community that donate blood and are the donors.

      1) What does BAME stand for?Black,asian and minority ethnic.

      2) Why is there a need for blood in the BAME community? We need blood from all ethnicity to decrease the percentage of deaths per year.

      3) What does this advert want people to do once they've seen it ('call to action')?The call to action means that it can save someones future.

      4) Why is the advert called 'Represent'?It is called represent because it is towards all communities and all ethnicity.
